Phone of Hours is a top down purse worked in the round. Created as part of a graduate seminar on medieval manuscripts, this pouch takes inspiration from Books of Hours, girdle books, and knitted reliquary purses. Easily customizable to fit different models of phones, or any other precious trinkets you wish to protect!

errata: Please note that in the sample shown, I mistakenly knitted the first rounds of the color work where the checkerboard pattern is. This resulted in a checkerboard half the width of what the pattern calls for. If you like this, you can definitely do the same thing, if not, your knit will look like the pattern’s chart.

To make the checkerboard skinnier (as per the sample shown) begin the color work as follows:

Round 1: K2 with CC1, K2 with MC, repeat from
Round 2: K2 with MC, K2 with CC1, K4 with MC, repeat from Round 4: K2 with MC, K2 with CC1, K4 with MC,
Round 3:
K2 with CC1, K2 with MC, repeat from *

Proceed to Rnds 7-10, knit the rest of the chart as follows.
