The Pic Champlain set is composed of a cabled hat and matching scarf. The hat is knitted in the round on circular needles. It starts with a tubular cast on (facultative) for a nice professional look. The scarf is knitted flat. Instructions are provide to knit a traditional scarf and an infinity scarf.
This set is inspired by the highest peak of the Bic National Park; the Pic Champlain. This park is located in the estuary of the St. Lawrence River and is known for its sunsets, which are among the most beautiful in the world.

Sizes
• For the hat: M (L), to fit head circumference of 19-23” / 48-58 cm (>23” / >58 cm).
The sample is knit in size M on a 20½” / 52 cm head circumference.
• For the scarf: One size.

Gauge
24 sts and 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm or 4 x 4” in cabled pattern with larger needles, after blocking.

Yarn
Aran by Artfil, 157 m (172 yards) / 100g, shown in color Antique Gold.
• 1 (2) skeins for the hat,
• 2 skeins for the scarf.

Needles and accessories
Cable needle, tapestry needle and scrap yarn (worsted or aran weigh).
• For the hat :3.75 / US 5 (for tubular cast on only), 4 mm / US 6 and 5 mm / US 8 circular knitting needle, minimal lengh of 80 cm / 32” for magic loop or 40 cm / 16” + dpns for working in the round.
• For the scarf :4.5 mm / US 7 and 5 mm / US 8 knitting needles. Crochet hook of matching size (for the provisional cast on of the infinity scarf version).


L’ensemble Pic Champlain est composé d’un bonnet à torsadse et d’une écharpe assortie. Le bonnet est tricoté en rond sur des aiguilles circulaires. Il débute avec un montage tubulaire (facultatif) pour une finition professionnelle. L’écharpe présente le même motif de torsades que le bonnet. Elle est tricotée à plat d’un bout à l’autre. Les instructions sont fournies pour une écharpe traditionnelle et pour une écharpe infinie.
Cet ensemble est inspiré du plus haut sommet du parc national du Bic; le Pic Champlain. Ce parc est situé dans l’estuaire du fleuve Saint-Laurent et est reconnu pour ses couchers de soleil, qui seraient parmi les plus beaux au monde.
