This slouchy cardi is a fashion forward layering piece. Features include modular, square, inset panels between the front and back sections that create an unstructured flowing shape with a handkerchief hem. The small collar and front edgings are in stockinette stitch that is slightly ruffled and deliberately allowed to curl.

The left front (and back) have subtle horizontal stripes of stockinette stitch and reverse stockinette stitch, while the right front and back sport wide vertical ribs for a subtle asymmetrical appearance. The inset panels on each side have the horizontal or vertical pattern that contrasts with the pieces it is joined to. These design elements result in a chic modern look with texture interest.

The piece is easy to wear with its flowing lines that camouflage the hip area. In a light yarn, it can be worn year-round. It could be layered over a crisp white shirt, a soft T-shirt, or a simple dress.
