Another pair of slipper socks inspired by Sam. In the beginning stages of the Pistachio Swirl socks, Sam thought the first few attempts at the textured stitches looked like bumps on a pickle. Little did he know that I had a dark green color of Cherub Chunky to actually make socks that look like pickles.

Chunky weight yarn is perfect for practicing your sock knitting skills. You get to work with bigger yarn on bigger needles which can make life so much easier if you are a newbie to sock knitting.

This pattern will get you more comfortable with knitting bobble stitches and with sock construction in general.

Needles needed - US 7 DPNs, 9” circular, or 24” or longer circular for magic loop
Personally I am a 9” circular fan. If you go this route, you still need DPNs to work the heel flap and toe. Also know that the smaller size slipper sock does not have enough stitches to fit comfortably around the 9” circular.

Slipper socks fit 7.5” (8.5”, 9.5”) foot circumference. Measure near ball of foot.
Fits approximately women’s shoe size 5-6 (7-8, 9-10)

Sample pictured used less than 2 skeins. Yardage used will vary depending on size of sock and length of leg.
