This is an easy to wear (and to knit!) set of patterns for babies, bigger kids and their grown ups. Pattern includes instructions for a bonnet, mittens, and hats - make a set for the whole fam!

PATTERN SPECS & MATERIALS

BONNET
size 3-6m (6-12m, 12-24m, 3-4y)
to fit (head circumference): 16 (17, 18, 19)” / 40.5 (43, 45.5, 48) cm

sizes 3-6 & 6-12m only

  • yarn sport weight wool. 1 x 50g skein Quince & Co. Chickadee (181 yards/166 m) was used for the sample | photographed in Belize to fit size 6-12m
  • gauge 19 sts and 30 rows equal 4”/10cm over pattern
  • needles 1 pair US 4 / 3.5mm circular needles,  or size needed to obtain gauge.  Cable should be long enough to work a small circumference in the round (or use dpns for crown). 2 US 4/3.5mm dpns to make i-cord (or circular needle with the short cable).

sizes 12-24m & 3-4y only

  • yarn worsted weight wool. 1 x 50 g skein Quince & Co Lark (134 yards/ 123 m)
  • gauge 18 sts and 34 rows = 4” / 10cm over pattern
  • needles 1 pair US 7 / 4.5mm circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.  Cable should be long enough to work a small circumference in the round (or use dpns for crown).  2 US 7/4.5mm dpns to make i-cord (or circular needle with the short cable).
