Picnic Tee
Picnic Tee is a classic, simple top with a round yoke in 2 colors. It is knit with 1 strand of Linnen Silk or cashmere. The increases are placed so they fall beautifully down over the yoke, giving a classic, short-sleeved tee. The body is knit in a contrast color with a simple diamond pattern made up of knit and purl stitches. The body, sleeves, and neckband are finished with a small rolled edge.

Recommended circular needles and gauge
Sizes US 2.5 and 4 / 3.0 mm and 3.5 mm.
24 sts and 31 rows in stockinette stitch on circular needle size 3.5 mm = 4” x 4” / 10 x 10 cm
Method
The top is knit top-down. After casting on, short rows are worked to shape the raised back
neck and give a good fit. Increases are then worked over a total of 9 rounds down over the
yoke; note that the increases are not worked the usual way. The sleeve stitches are then set
aside and the body is worked. Along the way the color of the body is changed, after which a
diamond pattern in knit and purl stitches is worked. The sleeves are worked in stockinette
stitch. All edges are finished with a small rolled edge.
