A spring-thru-autumn tee, for kids, teens, and t’weens. Knit with two colors alternating every row, creating a very subtle pin-striped effect that is super fun! Construction is bottom up, in-the-round, raglan decreases through shoulder. Decreases extend into rib neckline for a ‘square neck’ with i-cord bind-off finish. A great sock yarn stash-buster -- mix it up with many colors!

Fit: As this tee was designed with sock yarn, having a sheer quality to it, a fine weight yarn with larger needles is going to give you the lightweight fabric with lots of stretch, especially knit with sock yarn. The down-side of this stretchy fabric is it can be baggy, so choose size smaller if in doubt, at least 2” less than actual chest/bust measurement.

Alternatively, the sweater tee is beautiful knit with thicker yarn -- aim for the same gauge worked with smaller needles, in sport or dk weight yarn -- the fabric will be firmer, crisper, and less sheer and stretchy.

Also , if the instructions for decreases through the neck ribbing seem fiddly, by all means, work a conventional ribbed neckline, and it will be lovely-- decreasing 1 in 5 sts before the bind-off.

Gauge: 6 stitches and 8 rows = 1 inch in stockinette.

It is essential to make a proper gauge swatch. If you knit at all loosely, you will need to go down a needle size. Be sure to make a proper circular-knit (in-the-round) & wet-blocked gauge swatch so that you can have an accurate fit, and change needle sizes and garment size if necessary. Please see my tutorial on 3-in-1 Swatch to get a thorough & more exact stitch-gauge swatch.
