This cowl was inspired by the 2025 Philadelphia Yarn Crawl, and knit using yarn from Yarnphoria, a wonderful local shop on Pine Street in Philadelphia.

This simple cowl features a marled effect and a construction that shifts from knitting in the round to working flat. The resulting split adds versatility to how it can be worn—open in the front, folded over, or tucked inside a coat—and helps reduce bulk at the back of the neck.

This is my second published pattern and a simple, beginner-friendly project. It’s free to download through June 30, 2025 as a thank-you while I grow my collection.

I hope you enjoy it! I’d love it if you gave this pattern a ❤️. Thank you so much for your support!
