The Pine Tree State of Mind Cowl is a stranded, moebius cowl. Starting with a provisional crochet cast-on (video tutorial included), you will knit the pattern in the round. Bottom stitches are then picked up and slipped (to make the moebius twist) and the two ends are joined using kitchener stitch. (A video tutorial is provided.)

I used fingering weight yarn for the background color and Spincycle Dyed in the Wool for the motifs. I love the long color changes of the Spincycle. Nocturne would also work, as would your own handspun.

The cowl uses approximately 600 yards of the background color, and 250 yards of the contrast color.

The finished size is 9.25 inches wide laid flat (doubled, since this is worked in the round, and 38 inches long before grafting. This is two repeats of the entire pattern. You may make this longer by doing an additional pattern repeat.

Gauge is 26 stitches and 24 rows per 4 inches (10 cm.) knit in the round and lightly steamed.
