This is my pattern to introduce you to mandalas! Once you can hold a hook and do a basic double crochet you are ready for this. With a video tutorial that takes you through the making of the whole mandala, and links to more detailed stitch tutorials a newbie crocheter can make this 10cm mandala using sockweight/4ply, a 2mm hook, and a 10cm ring.
