Every since I first picked up a crochet hook, I’ve always loved the pineapple patterns. The lacy effect of the stitch work made elegant, airy items that I drooled over. Yet, I always hesitated to try my hand at any of the patterns. They appeared too complicated, beyond my abilities.

One of the main reasons for this, most of the patterns were charts. AND I couldn’t read charts. Again, I simply became overwhelmed and put it off as something to attempt on another day. I cannot tell you how happy I was that day finally came. I’ll admit, it took me forever to work my way through those first attempts, but once I got the hang of the patterns, they really are quite simple!

This design has both written instructions and a clear, easy to follow chart, along with illustrations to help you work the pattern. Several of my pattern testers, this was their first attempt to follow a chart, and they came through it with flying colors!
You DO NOT have to use the chart, written instructions will take you through the complete process. Yet, this is an opportunity to LEARN how, if you wish!
It is my hope this pattern can help introduce the marvelous, elegant pineapple pattern to those new to this type of pattern without the headaches I had when I struggled through my first efforts!
