The pattern has both written and marked chart instructions.

When making this pattern in Aran yarn and size 5mm (H) hook, a square would measure approximately 10 inches. Remember that your tension plays a large role in the outcome of the square’s size and therefore the amount of yarn you will use.

The sample blanket used the following weights of Hobby Lobby Aran yarns… 1.59 oz of color A (Ivory) and 1.2 oz of color B (Sacramento) PER SQUARE.

The border used 6 oz of color A and has a row of sc around joined squares, 5 moss stitch rows and a row of sc. The yarn weights do not include the yarn used to crochet the squares together.
