Patchwork Baby Blanket “Candy Floss”

The Pattern
A fabulously bright yet calming and beautiful blanket with a gentle loving energy to wrap a very special little girl in. There are lots of interesting textures to feel and explore and with the bonus of a soft fleece lining this blanket is sure to send your little girl into a tranquil dream filled sleep. Not only will this delight any baby but will look fantastic in the home and with 16 squares containing a different knitting pattern on each one, your knitting skills will impress anyone that lays eyes on it.

Measurements
When finished the patchwork blanket will measure approximately 80cm x 80cm (31.5” x 31.5”).
Each square will measure approximately 20cm x 20cm or 8” x 8”. This is a rough guide and size will vary slightly as some squares require extra or less stitches to be cast on to achieve the desired pattern.

Materials

  • One pair of 4mm knitting needles.
  • One cable needle.
  • Pins (lots of long ones work best).
  • Scissors.
  • Blocking Board. (optional, see pattern notes).
  • Felt Tip Pen (or something that will mark the fleece).
  • Ruler (or something to help mark a straight line)
  • Measuring Tape.
  • 80cm x 80cm (31.5” x 31.5”) fleece material (pick any design or colour you love).
  • 1 x 100g ball each of the following yarns; Hayfield Bonus DK Pink (992) Yarn. Hayfield Bonus DK Iced Pink (958) Yarn. Hayfield Bonus DK Cream (812) Yarn.
  • 2 x 100g ball of Hayfield Bonus DK White (961) Yarn.

Please Note
Yarn companies are constantly discontinuing colours so they can offer new ones to their customers which unfortunately and very frustratingly is beyond my control. Therefore, the yarns given in the pattern are just a suggestion and what was used in the patterns pictured. If you find any of the colours have been discontinued or hard to come by any DK yarn from any brand of a similar colour will work too.
