The Pink Peppermint Sweater is a warm hug on a cold day. It’s sipping a cup of your favourite hot beverage, while sitting fireside and chatting with a friend. This top down, drop shoulder crew neck is perfect for striping your favourite colours, or knitting in your prettiest tweed yarn. In other words, it’s all the best parts of cold weather, without ever actually being cold!

This sweater is knit in one piece from the top down.

Sizes
101.5 (112, 122, 132, 142) 152.5, 162.5, 172.5, 183 cm /
40 (44, 48, 52, 56) 60, 64, 68, 72

Samples are shown with about 10” of positive ease.

The sizes are the actual finished measurement of the garment. Select a size that is 9-15” larger than your actual chest measurement to achieve the recommended ease.

Gauge
16 stitches and 26 rows = 10 cm / 4” square in stockinette stitch knit in the round on larger needles after wet blocking.

Recommended Needles
5 mm (US size 8) 40 and 80 cm / 16” and 32” or longer circular needle for body and sleeves.
4.5 mm (US size 7) 80 cm / 32” circular needle for ribbed hem and cuffs.
4 mm (US size 6) 40cm / 16” circular needle for collar.

Yarn
Your preferred bulky weight yarn to get gauge.

Striped Sample knit in Camarose Snefnug 55% baby alpaca, 35% organic cotton, 10% fine merino wool, 50g = 110m / 120 yds. in colours 7832 Rust Rod, 7892 Pink & 7310 Askegra.

Tweed Sample knit in Camarose Snefnug 55% baby alpaca, 35% organic cotton, 10% fine merino wool, 50g = 110m / 120 yds. in colour 7106 Solsort held with Rico Make It Tweed in colour 001 Rainbow.

Adding the tweed adds lots of pizazz but does not affect the gauge.

Approximate Yardage:
705 (825, 935, 1040, 1185) 1290, 1460, 1605, 1775 m /
770 (900, 1025, 1135, 1295) 1410, 1595, 1755, 1940 yds total

If you are holding 2 strands together you will need the total yardage in both yarns.

If knitting a striped version in the same ratio as my sample you will use approximately:
Col A (Burgundy): 38% of total yardage
Col B (Pink): 27% of total yardage
Col C (Grey): 35% of total yardage

Additional Tools and Materials
Tapestry needle, 2 stitch markers, waste yarn or stitch holder.
