Making Pinna II Cowl will convince you beyond any doubt of how interesting crochet can be. While simple single and double crochet are stitches of choice for many crocheters, stepping away from them will land you this stunning texture. Directions are given for a cowl, but if you add a skein or 2 you may use this pattern to make a scarf.

Skill level: advanced beginner to intermediate
Finished dimensions: about 40 inches/101.5 cm in circumference and 8.5 inches/21.5 cm wide.
Yarn: worsted weight yarn, size 4; about 500 y/457m. I used 2 skeins of Dream in Color Classy in Flamingo Pie colorway.
Hook: 4 mm crochet hook US G, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Other materials: tapestry needle.
Gauge: 5 rows and 9 sts in pattern = 2”. Gauge is not crucial here, as the width and length of the cowl or scarf can vary.
To save time , please check your gauge.
