This is a pattern from my book, Lovely Lace Knits.

Some people are admittedly sock knitters, some prefers garments, hats or shawls. Even though I like all kinds of projects, knitted tank tops are possibly my favorite. They give me the satisfaction of having made a proper garment, yet they use low yardage and come together so quickly. While it may seem counterproductive to wear knitted garments during the warmer months, I’ve found out that it’s actually the opposite. When using cotton, linen, silk or even plied and treated wool, these garments flow in such a light manner that they feel even lighter than most store-bought tops. In the colder months, they can be layered with a knitted cardigan or a pretty blazer, adding a dainty look to any outfit. I designed the Pinnate Tank Top to be romantic, flowy and lightweight (mine weighs only 125g!), thanks to the lace pattern on the bottom. The lace part and the straps can be made longer or shorter, as desired, and the top-down construction makes this top so easy to customize.

Construction
This piece is worked from the top-down, starting with the top parts of the back and of the front, both worked flat, in stockinette stitch. Both pieces are joined together at the underarm, where working in the round begins. The bottom part starts with a section worked in stockinette stitch, followed by a lace pattern that gets larger by the bottom, to create a flowy A-line shape.
