Horizontal and vertical stripes, made easy with a simple slipped stitch pattern, highlight a charming hat that knits up in a flash in worsted weight yarn. Add a pair of matching mittens and you’ll be ready for the chilly days ahead.

The pattern includes both written and charted instructions for both the hat and the mittens.

Materials: US 8 (5.00mm) 16-20” circular needles and DPNs (or size to obtain gauge); Stitch Markers; Stitch Holder; and Tapestry Needle

Gauge: 4.25 sts and 8 rnds per inch in pattern; 4 sts and 6 rnds per inch in Stockinette stitch

One skein each of 2 colors in the suggested yarn will yield both a hat and a pair of mittens. The hat alone uses approx. 117 yards (55.5 yards in Color A and 61.5 yards in Color B). The mittens use a total of approx. 72 (size XS) to 124 (size XL) yards.
