The Pinstripe Sock is a simple introduction to the technique of vertical stranding, worked in a gender-neutral, top-down sock. Vertical stranding creates vertical stripes without floats or intarsia techniques. Make a pair in your team colors, your favorite colors, or use a whole rainbow!

Pattern includes Small, Medium, and Large sizes which will result in a 7 (8, 9)”/17.5 (20, 22.5) cm finished circumference when knit at gauge.

Yarn needs:
~Main Color: approximately 250 yd (230 m)
~Contrast Color: approximately 150 yd (137 m) of a single color OR 100 yd (90 m) of a single color plus strands (see pattern for details).

A wide variety of yarns (solids, tonals, variegateds, gradients, speckles) are appropriate for this pattern, but it is best to make sure you have high contrast between your main color and contrast color(s).

If you’re interested in using self-striping yarn, check out my One-Skein Wonder pattern.
