Pipa-hat is knitted in the round from the brim up. You can wear the brim single for slouchy look or folded for more traditional look. In general, for this pattern, with its fine ribbing, if you are in doubt which size to knit, choose the larger size. A note about yarn substitutions: the type of yarn you use (how tightly it is plied, the fibre content, etc.), and how much the yarn will relax over time in a worn knitted garment, may affect the fit and you should consider this also in choosing which size to knit.

You will get instructions for fingering, sport and worsted versions.

Fingering version

Yarn
50 g of fingering weight yarn, approximately 211-230 m/ 230.8-251.5 yds per 50 g.
