The hippo is knit flat in worsted weight on size 6 needles. The shirt is knit in fingering weight with size 2 needles. The single pattern includes instructions for the parrot and other accessories. The version in Festive Knits includes only the parrot.

Materials
Hippo: 50 g of worsted weight yarn in grey, 5 g of worsted weight yarn in pink, pair of 8 mm safety eyes, small piece of white felt for teeth, stuffing, pair of 4 mm knitting needles, tapestry needle, hand-sewing needle and thread
Shirt: 15 g of fingering weight yarn in white, 15 g of fingering weight yarn in contrasting colour, pair of 2.75 mm knitting needles, tapestry needle
Parrot: 5 g of worsted weight yarn in red, scraps of yarn in yellow, blue, and green, small piece of white felt, 2 small black beads or black embroidery floss, pair of 4 mm knitting needles, tapestry needle
