About four years ago I knit Mina Philipp’s beautiful shawl called Across the Pond. I’m not quite sure what happend but the lace border ended up looking way different than Mina’s original one.

My bad that I didn’t bother reading the instructions, I just glanced at the chart and knit it according to what I thought I was supposed to do. After I blocked the shawl I realized that I had accidentally designed a new lace pattern. Anyway, I gifted my shawl to Riikka in Stockholm and forgot about it.

Last July Sari (she is Piudevili here on Ravelry and Instagram) re-asked if one day I would design a shawl / wrap and use that happy accident lace pattern on it. And I did. This pretty shawl design is called Piudevili wrap.

Yarn:
Two 100 g skeins of any fingering weight single ply merino yarn
100 g = 360 – 420 m / 393 – 459 yd

Color A for body:
1 skein of variegated or speckled: approx. 83 – 85 g
Color B for lace:
1 skein of solid or semisolid: approx. 87 – 89 g

Option: You could also use fingering weight sock yarns if you wanted.

Notions:
1 progress keeper to mark the right side and 55 ring stitch markers to mark the lace pattern repeats

Finished size:
Wingspan approx. 230 cm / 90 inches and height approx. 39 cm / 15.3 inches after blocking
