Pixie-Doodle is nothing short of FUN to knit, full, block, embellish and wear! The design is meant for children but too charming for some adults to give up as it has its roots in the forest children for that nostalgic pull. The hat is a quick knit-in-the-round on large needles with some shaping in increasing and decreasing, narrowing down to double pointed needles for only the very last rounds and that adorable pixie point.

Skills needed include knit, purl, simple make one, knit two together, cast on, finish off last four stitches with a yarn needle, fulling in a washer and blocking. (See “Techniques” page on my website.) Knitted in the round on a circular needle, decreasing to double points.

Two strands of yarn are held together throughout the entire project which offers colorful and interesting possibilities such as adding a strand of mohair for a halo effect or endless color combinations.

Check back for photos of embellishments as they are added.
