This pair of mary jane slippers is great for keeping the toes warm when the weather doesn’t warrant super-heavy footwear. The first part of the slipper is knitted back and forth on two needles, and then joined in a circle for the toe.

Skills required: knit, purl, yo (yarn over), increase, decrease (k2tog), and 3 needle bind off.

materials and gauge
worsted weight yarn (about 2 oz.) that knits to gauge of 16 sts = 4 in.
one set US6 (4mm) dpn’s
two 1/2 inch buttons
tapestry needle (that will fit through button holes)
