Thick panels of luscious cables worked from shoulder to cuff pop against the mostly stockinette fabric of the Plaited Pullover. The deep collar and longer silhouette of this sweater will keep you warm on the chilliest days. This pullover is worked from the top down, starting with the saddle shoulders.

Yarn Harrisville Designs WATERshed (100% pure virgin wool; 110 yd 101 m/ 1 ¾ oz 50 g): #901 Birch Bark, 13 (14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21) skeins.

Needles Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm): 16” and 32” circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

NOTES

  • This pullover is worked from the top down. The saddle shoulders are worked back and forth. Stitches are picked up along the edges of the saddles and cast on for the front and back necks, then worked back and forth to the underarm while shaping the armhole. The body is worked in the round to the lower edge. The sleeves are picked up around the armhole and the cap is shaped with short-rows, then the sleeves are worked in the round to the cuff.
