This is a technique I developed for cutting plastic grocery bags into yarn and also a pattern for knitting the plarn into a mat.

This is so simple that it can hardly be messed up! Remember to use clean bags, make your loops at least 1”, and I wouldn’t try to cut more than 12 bags at a time.

I was inspired to write this pattern by the viral video of the church ladies who make these for the homeless. I couldn’t find a knitted pattern, and I really want a faster way to cut the bags. So, voila! My best to you and I hope this pattern helps you and those you love.
