Do you have special platters or glass or ceramic bakeware that you don’t want to have scratched or chipped? These quick to make Platter Protectors will fit those more oval or rectangular pieces to protect them during storage or when being transported. They also work well as hot pads to protect a table or counter.

Two styles:
Flat - fits under (as a hot pad) or between pieces that are stacked.
Wrap - a larger size to wrap around the entire platter. Great for stacking or packing.

Pattern contains one standard size with a recipe included to custom fit any size platter. Knit in garter stitch with simple increases and decreases, these are so quick to make, that you can knit a set for yourself and then knit sets as gifts for everyone on your list.

Finished Size: Flat (Wrap) – Two styles to fit a 10” x 14” platter. Flat - fits under (as a hot pad) or between pieces that are stacked. Wrap - a larger size to wrap around the entire platter.

Equations are given for the calculations needed to make custom sizes.

Yarn: Worsted, heavy worsted or aran. 90 (210) yds, 82 (192) meters. Note: Acrylic will work if you are just using these to store cool platters or dishes. Cotton or wool are better if you will be putting anything hot on them.
