You may use any yarn to make this toy, just make sure to use correct hook size with your yarn.

You will need following or similar materials to crochet the platypus as in the picture:

1. Main yarn color: Wolans 19 – 1/2 skein Bill and paws: Dolche 754
2. 14 mm colored safety eyes
3. Polyester fiberfill stuffing
4. Needle with a large eye
5. Crochet hook size 3.5 or 4 mm
6. Black and white YarnArt Jeans yarn for embroidering the eyebrows
7. Strong cotton thread for tightening

You will only need basic crocheting skills to make this pattern:
