After the gentle showers of early spring we often find ourselves pleasantly surrounded by the joyful blossoms of springtime’s color, emerging like a field of poppies.

And, as always, joy can be found.

This textured cowl captures the essence of all this as it takes you on a fiber journey. Within it may you learn new skills, grow in knowledge, and find joy through each stitch. Using two color ways you will start off by first knitting the cowl flat using a faux-cable textured cell stitch before joining in the round and continuing in this textured pattern finishing the cowl off with a beautiful herringbone border.

Using 2 skeins of Stitch Together Fiber Studio’s Stitch Dreamy DK or any DK weight yarn in slightly contrasting colors (each skein approx. 218-250 yards, 115g). It’s best if your main color is found within your slightly contrasting color; otherwise, it will be way more striped. You will use one color at a time for 2 rows / rounds allowing the simple slip stitch to carry colors.

You will knit this piece flat, increasing 1 st on each end on both RS and WS until you reach 109 (123) stitches or piece measures 8 (10)” from cast-on along the center spine. The herringbone border will add an additional 1.5 inches to your cowl. There are two sizes offering a slightly longer and larger circumference for you fit liking.
