In mythology, the Pleiades were seven sisters, sea nymphs, who were turned into stars. The star-like motif at the center of the shawl echoes their final form, and the rounds of waves are evocative of their beginning.

Thank you to my testers: CarolSch and Riohnna, and a second thank-you to Riohnna for allowing me to use the picture of her peach blanket.

Errata: The blanket takes approximately 1800 yards, not 1500 as listed in the pattern.

I am in the process of reworking this as a faerose shaped shawl in a lighter weight yarn.
