Plot Twists
As readers, there’s nothing better than finding a good book, and there’s nothing better in a good book than a good plot twist. A twist needs to be properly set-up and executed in order to have real impact, just like a knit cable. The Plot Twists fingerless mitts bring some fun twists to an otherwise simple ribbing design, and are perfect for keeping your hands warm while you read your favourite books.
Sizes
There are four sizes available in pattern: 1 (18cm / 7” hand circumference), 2 (20cm / 8” hand circumference), 3 (22.5cm / 9” hand circumference), and 4 (25cm / 10” hand circumference). You can find your size by measuring around your hand just below your fingers (not including your thumb), and choosing the size closest to your measurements.
Yarn and Yardage
The sample is knit in Emilia & Philomene Josephine (100% NSW merino, 438 yards / 100g) in Rouille, and the pattern needs approximately 180 - 210 yards.
Notions
Knitting needles (DPN’s or circulars), cable needle, darning needle, stitch markers.
Techniques
The fingerless mitts are knit in the round from the cuff up. The cable instructions are charted and written.
This pattern is suitable for knitters who are familiar with working fingerless mitts in the round and gusset thumb construction.
