Cardigan is knit flat from the top down - working the back, two fronts, and two sleeves. Front band with 6 buttonholes is knit on both front openings. Lace knit edging is worked separately and sewn to bottom of body and sleeves.

Stripes will require 660-880 yards (6-8 skeins) each of two colors. The total yardage reflects this. Cardigan is hip length.

From book: “Knitting from the top down will make it easy to match the stripes and adjust the length of the sweater…for a cropped look, stop at the waist.”
