Pick out two variegated colors and knit your own vibrant plumaje (Spanish for plumage). This shawl combines a wide wing-like shape with stitch patterns evoking the texture of feathers.

CONSTRUCTION
This triangular shawl is knit flat starting at the nape of the neck. It increases at six points to form long wings.

Advanced beginner (basic lace, picot bind-off)

width = 23”/59 cm at center
length = 88”/223 cm from tip to tip
Approximate, after blocking. Note that the finished object will be very stretchy and malleable to blocking.

Rows 113-122 - switch to color A and work as for Garter #1 Rows 15-24. 10 rows and 5 garter ridges worked.
Row 123 - work as for Row 15
Row 124 - switch to color B and work as for Row 16.
Row numbers after that change appropriately.
