My love for crochet and knitting continues to grow, and I am completely in love with mixing them. In this design, I mixed the beauty and elasticity of simple knit ribbing with a warm and addicting crochet stitch - the puff stitch. This hat is so fun to make and wear. It’s very warm and perfect for a colder weather hat.

Pattern Construction: This hat begins with knitting the brim worked in 1x1 ribbing using a woolen spun fingering weight yarn. The ribbing is long enough to be folded. This adds to its fit and warmth. Suri Alpaca is then joined and knit in the round for a couple of times before beginning the crochet section. Crochet puff stitches are then worked in the round to make the body of the hat. Crochet decreases are made to create the crown. You can make a pompom to add to the top of the hat or not.

Difficulty Level:
Intermediate knitter and crocheter: Maker is comfortable with knitting and crocheting.

Skills Needed:
Knitting skills needed are: knowledge of basic knit stitches: Long-tail Cast On, ribbing and stockinette, and knitting with yarns held double.
Crocheting skills needed are: knowledge of basic crochet stitches: chain st, yarn overs, puff stitch, and decreases.
