This small hedgehog is fast to make and fits into a pocket or bag to be toted around easily. It’s good for little ones or just as a cute softie.

Pattern Notes
The hedgehog front is knit flat with wool, then the paws are sewn together. Stitches are picked up around the edges and the back is knit with short rows, wool and novelty yarn together. The piece is then felted and stuffed. Eyes and nose are embroidered or needle-felted. The finished piece is about 3” tall and 7” around.

Materials and Tools

  • scraps of worsted wool yarn that felts (around 18.5 yards) and fun fur or like yarn (around 9 yards)
  • 10.5 straight or circular needles and 11 circular needles

  • embroidery thread or scrap yarn
  • scrap of colorfast non-felting yarn
