This knitted oversized scarf/wrap is a versatile garment that when draped over your shoulders acts like a sweater. The pockets give you added versatility, keeping your hands warm in cooler weather. They are knit by picking up stitches along the finished side of the wrap and knitted upward and then tacked down.

The wrap comes in three sizes (based on height and weight) and two weights of yarn: chunky and aran. It is designed to be knit longwise, which means although you cast on a lot of stitches, you will finish the wrap in record time compared to a wrap knit horizontally from side to side. If you are persistent, this could be a weekend project.

Gauge for Chunky version is 11 sts/4 inches in garter on a US11
Gauge for Aran version is 15.5 sts/4 inches in garter on a US9. Actual gauge is stretched to less stitches per inch once worn but this is accounted for in pattern.

Yarn: Wrap uses 4 (5, 5) skeins of Chunky (131 yards/100 grams) with fringe. Aran version is 4 (5, 5) skeins of aran or heavy worsted weight yarn (208 yards/100 grams).

Needles: Chunky version: For the wrap size 11 or size to get gauge in a 32, 40 or 60” circular depending on chosen size.
Aran version: For the wrap size 9 or size to get gauge in a 32, 40 or 60” circular depending on chosen size.
For pockets you can use your same circular needle, a shorter circular needle or straight needles in the same size.
