These SOCKS may seem like a simple, classic ribbed design, but they feature a fun, functional side pocket that can be either visible and fancy with a buttoned flap or quite invisible, discreetly hiding your secret items away.
They are also constructed with one of the best-fitting heels: The STYX heel classic, which offers an anatomically superior fit thanks to its unique shaping, that does not slide into the shoe when walking.

Numerous linked exclusive video tutorials guide you through the more complex techniques, ensuring a relaxed and hassle-free knitting experience that allow even adventurous beginners to try out sock knitting!

This design is a variation on a classic ribbed sock. Heel, toe, and pocket lining are worked in a contrast colour, but the pattern can also be worked entirely in one colour.
The pockets can be worked either with a fun buttoned flap or without, for a more discreet finish.

The sock is worked toe-up with a gusset. This construction provides a good fit and makes it easy to check the length as you knit.
It is also a useful method for using up partial yarn amounts; weigh the yarn first and divide the amount in half for the two socks.

The heel is worked with the classic STYX heel construction, which provides a better fit by improving upon standard short-row methods. This anatomically shaped heel is created by treating the two halves of the heel differently, forming a more curved line than traditional short-row shaping.
For knitters who might need it, a separate pattern—STYX heel socks (featuring detailed options for high arches or wider fitting)—can be purchased separately and used to substitute the heel section in this pattern (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/styx-heel-socks)

The instructions are written for double-pointed needles. Knitters can easily translate the information for the use of magic loop or short circular needles of the same size.
