Pogonip is the native American word for a rare ice fog that creeps along the valley floors in some parts of the western United States. In its wake, it leaves a fairyland of crystal-coated landscape, sparkling in the sunlight. My beautiful eastern Sierra home is one of those special places, and some winters - when all the conditions are just right - we awake to a world glistening diamond-like in the early morning sun.

Note: the mittens shown are the Jadis Mittens from The Great Oddments Knitdown.
