This easy pattern for a Poinsettia Coaster Doily is fast to make and would make a nice Christmas present, or, if you use other colors, also a nice house warming gift.

Size: 4.75 inch / 12 centimeter diameter using crochet hook 3,5 mm / E.

You can follow the colors used in this pattern, but you can also:

• Use a silver or gold metalic thread (same yarn width as the yarn used for the coaster) for some rounds
• Make a Delft Blue coaster: use white and 3 shades of blue
• Make a spring coaster: use pastel colors
• Make an autumn coaster: use orange, green, yellow and cream
• Make a summer coaster: use bright colors

You can use this pattern to make a coaster, but can also use it as a doily, a candle mat, use it in a garland (block the coaster and use fabric stiffener so the coaster keeps it shape).

Stitches used in this pattern are: chain, slip stitch and double crochet (US crochet terms are used). In this pattern there is no explanation on how to crochet these stitches! But it isn’t hard at all to crochet in the round!
