This easy pattern. The pattern only uses two stitches, the single crochet, and the slip stitch. There is some color-changing but still a great project for a beginner crocheter.

I used Red Heart Super Saver in the colors red, white, and black. I used a G (4.0 mm) crochet hook for this pattern.
