The Polar Braids Sweater is a recently designed version of the Polar Braids Quarter Zip pattern. It is the ideal pattern for those that wish to achieve the stylish and functional pattern without the fear of sewing in a zipper into their knits. This pattern is a great addition to any wardrobe and could be worn during a comfy day on the couch knitting, at the office, or dressed up for an event!

Both the Quarter Zip and the Sweater patterns’ names come from honoring a hometown favorite, Polar Seltzer, a local company in Worcester, MA, USA, where I am from! Plus, it’s a perfect sweater to wear on the coldest winter days.

This sweater is knit seamlessly from the top-down, knitted flat at first to create the crewneck shaping, then worked in the round and it is separated in section. Next, the body and sleeves are worked individually in the round. Next, stitches are picked up around the raw edges around the neckline to knit the collar. Finally, once the ends are woven in and the work is blocked, the sweater can be worn!

9 SIZES AVAILABLE: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL or designed for - 28”-60” bust (71cm-152cm).
The model pictured in the photo above is wearing size S and is 5’4” (162.4cm) and has a bust size of 32” (81 cm) in circumference.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE:
Find your bust measurements below. Positive ease is built into the pattern, meaning final measurements are 2-4” (5cm-10cm) on top of that number. This creates a closely fitting sweater without a lot of extra fabric.

To accurately choose your size, please refer to the notes section at the end of the pattern (page 8) where you will find a sizing chart and instructions to best help you select a size to knit. There is also a brief note for how to make modifications.
