Polka dot shawl is shaped through evenly spaced increases that, simultaneously, create the polka dot pattern. After the shawl is finished the toothed garter edge is worked on to the rounded edge of the shawl.

This semi-circular shawl starts in the centre and is worked out towards the curved edge with the pattern simultaneously shaping the shawl. When the full depth is reached, shawl wings are drawn out with short rows and then the garter edging is worked sideways in short rows as well.
