My Dad always used to bring me home a pomegranate when they were in the shops in Autumn – took me hours to eat the thing. I don’t think I actually liked the taste much, but it was very pretty to look at. Ever since then, I have associated pomegranates with Autumn and it seemed like a good idea to create a thicker pair of socks for Autumn and Winter that featured pomegranate seeds.

These socks are quick to work in a sport-weight yarn that makes them just a little bit warmer.

There are two sizes:
Medium: 19 cm/7½ in foot circumference, to fit Woman’s shoe size EU 38 – 40, UK 5.5 – 7, US 8 – 9;
Large: 23 cm/9 in foot circumference, to fit Man’s shoe size EU 43 – 46, UK 9.5 – 12.5, US 9.5 – 13.

Yarn Requirements: Regia 6-ply (6-fädig) Sport Weight sock yarn, MC: 175 (192) mts/190 (210) yds ; CC1: 125 (132) mts/137 (145) yds; CC2: 25 (26) mts/27 (28) yds. Any suitable sport weight yarn can be used to complete this design.

Needles: Set of four 3mm (US 2.5) DPNs

Other Materials: Stitch Marker, Tapestry/Yarn needle

Tension/Gauge: 30 sts and 32 rounds measures 10 cm x 10 cm/4 in x 4 in over stranded pattern.
