The pattern for the Pompkin Beanie is designed for super bulky yarn, and is adjustable for many children’s sizes.
You will need to select one color for the body, and one for the stem.
Stem is knitted using either DPNs or magic loop method.
Colors can be adjusted to create not only a pumpkin, but other types of “produce” as well.
Stranded color work is used to create the stem, some initial familiarity with color work and floats may be beneficial.
Requires 8mm/US11, 9mm/US13 for the baby size; 9mm/US11 and 10mm/US15 needles for the toddler/youth 1-4 size
Baby size can be adjusted for newborn - 12 mos.
Toddler/ Youth size can be adjusted for 1- 4 years.
35-40 yards of main color yarn required for baby size.
40-45 yards of main color yarn required for toddler/youth 1-4 size.
10 yards of contrast color yarn required for baby and toddler/youth sizes.
