I designed and hand knit this simple, cozy, versatile toque for romping around in the cold weather. Anyone can wear it, and it can be worn with anything! It can be worn slouchy at the back or folded down for double thickness over your ears. And the huge pompom adds a fun and jaunty touch to the top!

The PDF comes with knitting pattern for the hat, as well as hand-illustrated instructions and a printable template for the pompom.

MEASUREMENTS:
The toque measures 14” around when resting, but can stretch up to 23”. The ribbed bottom portion is 3 1/2” long, and the toque measures 11” long in total. The pompom is 4” in diameter.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • one 6mm circular needle no more than 17” long (or four double pointed 6mm needles)
  • one 7mm circular needle no more than 17” long (or four double pointed 7mm needles)
  • four double pointed 7mm needles
  • ~120 yards of yarn in proper gauge (e.g. Cascade Eco +)
