The design for this shawl came about when I saw the wall of brightly colored mini skeins hanging next to the counter at my local yarn shop in Dublin. I wanted something fun and bright for spring, so I chose a muted grey for the main color to make the stripes and pom poms really pop. Thus, PomPomPop was born! This is worked from the cast on corner with 3 stitches and increases one stitch every other row to create an asymmetric triangle shape. The pompoms can be made by hand or with a pom pom maker and are attached after the shawl is finished.

This pattern would be ideal for using up stray bits of leftovers, too. Worked as written, you use up about 50 yds of each of the contrast colors. Each stripe uses only a small amount – consider working each with a different color.
