A quick, cute little poncho. Open at the sides and held partially closed by seaming the underarms and buttons added to the overlapping edges.

Sizes:
Small 1 to 2 years of age (Approx. 24”/61cm chest.)
Medium 2 to 3 years of age. (Approx. 27”/68.5cm chest.)

Gauge:
Small: Fingering held double or worsted wt. = 19 stitches x 16 rows = 4”/10 cm knit on 6.5mm/10 1/2 US. (After blocking.)
Medium: DK doubled or aran wt. = 17 stitches and 14 rows = 4 inches/10cm knit on 8mm/11 US. (After blocking)
Materials:
Small: 250 to 300 yards worsted wt. yarn. (I used a fingering weight yarn, held double. 500 yards used.)
6.5mm/10 1/2 US needles for the small size.
Medium: 300 to 350 yards Aran weight yarn. (I use 580 yards of DK, held double for the above Ponchetta.)
7.5 - 8mm/11 US for DK wt.
