This pattern of colorwork can be done with just about any size needles, just be consistent with yarn thickness (I would NOT mix aran and bulky for example). If you’d like to use smaller needles and sport weight yarns or smaller, that should work just fine, and vice versa if you’d like it to be bulkier (use bigger needles). This colorwork of Winnie the Pooh works fabulous as a square for a baby blanket but could easily be adjusted to work in a sweater, bib, purse, pillow, etc.
