Popinjays are a pair of stranded-knit hand-warmers featuring a juxtaposition between warm-weather tropical birds and cold-weather Nordic knitwear.

Written for three sizes, each using it’s own weight of yarn, size of needle, and gauge as follows:

Small (palm circumference 7.5”): Palette Fingering, 2.25 mm and 2.75 mm needles, gauge of 36sts/40rnds=4”/10cm over cuff pattern

Medium (palm circumference 8.5”): Wool of the Andes Sport, 2.75mm and 3mm needles, gauge of 32sts/34rnds=4”/10cm over cuff pattern

Large (palm circumference 9.5”):Wool of the Andes Worsted, 3mm and 3.25mm needles, gauge of 28sts/30rnds=4”/10cm over cuff pattern
