Popple Cowl is a wonderful squishy warm quick knit, using just less than one skein of fingering, paired with a lace weight with silk content.

The combination of the two yarns creates a lovely soft, silky feeling fabric that molds to the shoulders and neck.
Combining two threads you can make a wonderful new colourway all your own.

Construction:
Shoulder coverage is knit first flat, sideways, then cast on edge is joined to live stitches.
Neck coverage is knit in the round, after picking up stitches along the garter stitch top edge and finished with a rolled over edge to resemble icord cast off.

Gauge: The row gauge is important for section One. At the end of section One, measure the top edge of the three pattern repeats and ensure it will sit nicely round your neck.

Skills needed:

  • Provisional cast on
  • Kitchener stitch or three needle bind-off
  • Short rows
  • Picking up and knitting stitches
  • Fishermans’ Rib in the round
  • Stretchy bind off
