“Poppy tunic” is a timeless and elegant dress for girl that comes in both Christmas and summer version. The tunic is knitted in Arwetta from Filcolana (Christmas version) and Pure Silk from Knitting for Oliver (summer version). You can off course choose the yarn you prefer with the same gauge.

The tunic is knitted from the bottom up. The tunic itself is knitted with 1 red thread, while the ruffles are knitted with 2 threads; 1 red thread and 1 glitter thread (optional). For contrast, the garter stitch on the ruffles is knitted only with the red thread. The ruffles are knitted separately. Then, they are each knitted onto the tunic by knitting 1 stitch from the ruffle together with 1 stitch from the tunic. For sizes 2 and 4 years, there are 2 ruffles instead of 3 due to the shorter length. Adjust your needle size by knitting a swatch before you start, otherwise, you risk the garment having different dimensions than those specified in the pattern.
